Alastair was awarded first class honors on completion of a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Manchester, where he was able to merge a formal design qualification with his passion for skateboarding. In this time Alastair helped to create and sustain multiple DIY

skateparks in London and Manchester. He is a co-founding director of The Grove DIY skatepark and community gardens in London and is also a founding member of Gooseside and Beeside DIY skateparks in Manchester. Since graduating from university, he has blended his design qualifications with his love for hands on work, which has led to a career in professional skatepark construction and design.

Alastair currently works full time as a skatepark builder for two companies in the UK and the Netherlands, having built lots of skateparks in both countries, as well as a skatepark in Tunisia with charity ‘Make Life Skate Life’.
